The main water line is the primary pipe that brings fresh water into your house from the municipal supply. It typically runs underground from the street to your foundation, entering the home through a wall or slab. Everything in your house that uses water, your kitchen faucet, shower, toilet, washing machine, and water heater, relies on this single line to function properly.
Because it’s buried and often overlooked, many people don’t think about their main water line until there’s a problem. When something does go wrong, though, it affects your entire water supply. That’s where we come in. At World Class Sewer and Drain, we specialize in diagnosing and resolving main line issues with as little disruption to your routine as possible.
Some problems with a main water line are subtle, while others are hard to miss. A sudden drop in water pressure is one of the most common red flags. If you notice weak flow from multiple fixtures, especially on both hot and cold lines, the problem may not be inside the house. It could be your main line.
You might also see wet spots in your yard, particularly along the path between the water meter and your home. If the soil is unusually soft, muddy, or sunken in that area, it may be due to a leaking or broken pipe beneath the surface.
Other warning signs include discolored water, especially if it’s coming from multiple faucets, and an unexplained spike in your water bill. That could mean water is leaking underground continuously, even when everything in the house is turned off.
In extreme cases, you may hear a hissing or bubbling sound from your foundation, or see water pooling inside your basement or crawl space. These are emergencies and should be addressed immediately.
When we get a call about a potential main line problem, the first step is a thorough inspection. We start by talking with you about what you’ve noticed, then we perform a pressure test and visual inspection at the main shutoff. If the symptoms point to a leak or blockage, we use specialized locating equipment to map out the line’s path and pinpoint the issue without digging up your entire yard.
If the line is repairable, we’ll isolate the damaged section and make a clean repair. That may involve trenching or using trenchless technology, depending on the pipe’s location and condition. In cases where the pipe is too old, corroded, or poorly installed to repair safely, we’ll recommend a full replacement using modern, long-lasting materials like copper or PEX.
Our team handles all the permitting, excavation, pipe work, and site restoration, so you’re not stuck coordinating with multiple contractors. Most main water line jobs take one day, sometimes two for more complex setups. We always make sure your water service is restored quickly and your property is left clean and level.
We don’t just replace pipes, We help protect your water supply and property value. We’ve worked in Bellmore for years, and we know how to navigate local code requirements and soil conditions. We keep you informed throughout the process, offer upfront pricing, and deliver a clean, professional finish.
If you’re seeing any of the warning signs mentioned above, don’t wait. A main water line issue won’t resolve itself. We’ll come out, assess the situation, and walk you through your options with no pressure.
We uphold the highest standards in the industry, using top-tier tools and techniques to get the job done right. With extensive knowledge and years of experience, we’re ready to handle any sewer or drain crisis, ensuring swift, professional service you can trust.

I called Mike at World Class and he responded within hours and kept me informed when he was delayed at the prior job. It was a very difficult blockage due to my old galvanized pipes and a T-joint that joined the two. Mike spent almost 2 hours trying to get it unclogged. Most people would have given up, but he persisted and got it cleared. He lived-up to his “world-Class” name. Thanks Mike, I will be calling you again, and recommending you to anyone who asks.Posted on Joy Kim2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a major issue in my basement with how the plumbing was set up. The previous owner had set up a horrible system. I had three other plumbers look at the issue and all of them misdiagnosed the issue. Mike and Mike recognized it right away and did fantastic work fixing it. Recently, they cleaned out a blockage in my septic tank pipe and replaced a toilet. Throughout the process they walked me through each step of what they were doing. When identifying issues they provided multiple solutions and recommendations. They are extremely professional, always respond quickly, and provide fantastic quality work. I can't recommend them enough.Posted on Richard Levow2025-08-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On April 19th, 2025 the downstairs toilet in our home overflowed. As a result, the den level and basement required full remediation. This included removing all of the paneling in the den as well as sheetrock in the bathroom and basement. Once the carpeting was removed, we discovered that the floor tile was asbestos which required an additional protocol for removal. Fast forward to August 1st. The space was now roughly 70% done. The downstairs toilet was still not replaced. Someone flushed the upstairs toilet and water came gushing out of the toilet flange downstairs flooding the bathroom, part of the basement and part of the den. That required 4 days worth of work to be ripped out. In addition, I now had another claim with another deductible. As soon as this happened, I called World Class. Mike and Mike came out in the late afternoon and snaked the line from the outside of the house. They strongly recommended that I have them come back and inspect the sewer line with their camera. Mike returned the next week and we discovered that the sewer line to the main was separated. He explained to me that the situation that I had could be repaired with a high tech machine that they use for this type of problem. The machine coats the pipe with an epoxy resin which is more durable than the current pipe material. He assured me that it would resolve the issue. Mike, Mike, Hector and Gio came out that Friday and worked on the sewer line. They were at the house for roughly 10 hours. They worked in a highly professional manner and explained to me what they were doing as they proceeded. Needless to say having your house flood out twice is very stressful. Mike and Mike were excellent at calming my nerves. I highly recommend them should you ever have sewer or plumbing issues.Posted on Annamarie Burriesci2025-08-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had World Class Sewer & Drain come to my home in Oceanside, NY to install a new toilet and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The technician showed up on time, was professional, and made the whole process quick and stress-free. The installation was done perfectly and they left the bathroom spotless when they were finished.
